Meet our cows

KALI– Mother to Rudra. The connection to her daughter Rudra is a beautiful protective mother daughter relationship and is truly beautiful to observe this in a different species. She is the head of the herd. The Boss lady. No one mess with her when it comes to feeding time because all other cows will get headbutted out. She will come galloping to us if she senses the prospect of food. The first one to respond to our calls and  recognize us from our whistles and calls.

DEVI – Mother to Dia and Krishna. She is our gentle beast. Her size and stature can intimidate but once you get to know her she is a sweet gentle soul who will melt your heart. She probably still thinks she is a young soul and is a more independent mother. However, her watchful eye is always on her children. She has the cutest hair fringe on her head distinct to her.

DIA – She is the head butt expert. its her love language. however she has no idea that she has the power to basically throw us all to the ground so we dare not approach her lest we are headbutted to the ground in her playfulness. Among the heard she is the quiet one and usually stays aloof however with us she is very friendly and curious.

RUDRA – She is the unofficial, unpronounced boss of the lot. Everyone abides by her and she is now a true teenager – vocal, opinionated, carefree, independent and spunky! She is our first born calf here at the MCB USA. She’s a good older sis to Krishna and during the early months of Krishna’s birth was even like a mother to him. Rudra is short for Rudraani. It is sheer joy to have Rudra around with her tantrums and talkative nature.

KRISHNA  – is the baby of our family and was born a few months after Rudra. He is the most adorable thing and is the only male in the herd. But his energy is gentle. He loves to hang out with older sis Rudra and will follow her wherever she is. They walk, graze and sit together tucked into each other. This bond is sweet to witness. He has even learnt to moo and speak just like his older sister.
